1989 Beaver Deluxe restored & partially
refitted in 2008 by ourselves and since then substantially upgraded
by the present owner. There has been a substantial amount of internal
relining carried out including the underside of the cabin roof thus
adding to the boat’s thermal insulation. Under floor insulation is
also fitted.
The interior is now a modified version of our standard 4 berth boat
comprising a forward saloon, a central galley, a toilet/shower zone,
and a 2 berth rear cabin.
The forward saloon has twin dinette tables (seating 4 persons),
demounting at night to form either 2 singles or large optional
double ( 5” wide x 6’ 4” long). There is ample storage below
seating. A recent “Goodmans” stereo radio/CD player is installed
close by.The central galley comprises a 2 burner hob, grill and a separate
“Caribbean” oven, a s/steel sink & drainer with a “Paloma”
instantaneous water heater above (which is flued to the exterior).
There is a pull-out drawer at floor level. Opposite, is a worktop
with an Electrolux 60L. gas-powered fridge below (which is B.S.S.
compliant.) Under fridge is another pull-out drawer. There is also a
removable work top which attaches to the forward bulkhead for extra
work surface, extending into the saloon cabin on the left-hand side.
Aft of the galley are the shower compartment & enlarged toilet, the
doors of which inter-lock to create a “bathroom/dressing” space
across the centre of the boat. A “porta potti”
(and a spare) is included.
The shower currently doubles-up as a
wardrobe/storage area with hanging rail and two lift-out shelves.
The rear cabin has two single berths, 6ft 3 long, converting to
double-across at night if required. The entrance step is a
substantial box with a hinged lid, which would be ideal as a tool
box. There is the usual cavernous under-cockpit storage space for
folding bikes, aluminium chairs etc.
Over one rear berth there is an ingeniously fitted pine dresser top
providing high level storage for books./maps etc. Over the other
berth is an extra clothes hanging rail.
Space heating is from a “Thermex” catalytic heater.
Fluorescent lighting is fitted throughout the boat. Halogen reading
lights could easily be added. There are recent curtains & cushions
in the saloon, and a hard wearing cord carpet is fitted throughout.
All soft furnishings are in very good condition.
Two extra windows have been fitted , making it a very light & airy
boat.
The 150L. water bag under the bow bunk has been recently replaced.
A new 125A/hr sealed battery has been fitted in 2011
Petrol & gas are stored in the outside safety lockers. The engine is
a 1990 tiller steered electric-start 4-stroke YAMAHA with a
high-thrust propeller, good electrical charging and is reported as
running well.
The tiller has a removable brass extension and brass securing pin,
giving the boat a “trad. narrowboat”
flavour.
Low-level stainless steel grab rails are fitted to the deck at the
bow.
The centre section of the rear hand rail is removable, making access
easy when boat is on the trailer.
Rope-rings are fitted to the centre of the roof, making for easy
handling.
The gangplank/seat which spans the rear end of the cockpit is fitted
with a removable upholstered cushion.
Price includes all usual navigation equipment and numerous extras.
(inventory available)
Boat Safety Cert to: 2013
A twin-axle, fully galvanized trailer ( M.G.W. 2600 kgs.) is
included in the sale, and comes with all operational equipment
including a spare wheel. (The vendor may separate the trailer if
requested).
In short, this is an opportunity to acquire a well-fitted,
well-equipped 4 berth Wilderness Beaver 23, trailboat package.
